BURNING IN THE NIGHT
A Memoir in the Author's Voice

At age 8 the Author was orphaned and homeless. At age 14 he escaped custody and, lured by train whistles and dreams of freedom, commenced jumping freights and seeking adventure, with utter disdain for formal education. His "discoveries" as to the true nature of freedom and its allied illusions are observed with poignancy and the pain of naked experience. It is safe to say that never again are you likely to read or hear anything quite like this.
